Our twelve ensembles have a reputation for excellence and a membership of over 300 young people  aged from 6 to 18.

Ensemble are provided and run by Hampshire Music Service who charge a fee per term for membership.

In the Year 2016 -17, the fee for Area Ensemble membership is £25 per term and for County Ensemble Membership is £35 per term. If your child belongs to more than one ensemble you will only pay one fee. If your child is in a county and an area ensemble you will only pay the £35 County Ensemble fee. There is also a one time only payment to join the Uniform Hire Scheme of £15.

Playing or singing together is a great social and educational activity; BAYOC members are friendly, enthusiastic and committed.  Our Groups are organised in a 'pyramid' allowing progression to higher level of performance as the musician improves their skill.      The conductors will decide which group will benefit your child the most at their stage of musical development.

Our most talented performers go on to perform at County and National Level.  Many ex players have found employment within the music industry or have excelled in other fields. Auditions are held annually for the Youth Orchestra; however other ensembles do not require audition and may accept new members throughout the year.
