BAYPE was set up to provide the young people of Basingstoke and surrounding area the opportunity of playing percussion with others and of providing young percussionists for the other orchestras and bands within the BAYO tier.

The ensemble have an excellent range of instruments to perform on, thanks to generous donations from the Four Lanes Trust, the Southern Co-Operative Society and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Two groups are now running Beginner/ Intermediate 4.45-5.45 and Advanced 5.45-6.45.  In the Beginner/Intermediate group we welcome members who have never played percussion but are interested to join in up to Grade 4. The Advanced group is for Grade 4+ players. We meet in room 845 at Central Studio, within the Queen Mary College Campus.
