Basingstoke Junior Choir was founded by Marilyn Wright in 1997 with the principal aim of offering Primary School children from the Basingstoke area a range of singing opportunities and experiences to complement and extend those available in school.

This choir is the junior section of the Basingstoke Area Youth Choir and for singers up to the end of year 6 who enjoy singing a wide variety of choral music. There is no audition but members must be enthusiastic and enjoy singing. They are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and should be prepared to work hard on a wide range of music in a variety of styles and languages. New members are always welcome. They rehearse at Queen Mary's College Basingstoke.

Hampshire Music Service charges a fee for Ensemble Membership, which during the school year 2016 - 17,  is £25 per term and for County Ensemble Membership is £35 per term. If your child belongs to more than one ensemble you will only pay one fee.  If your child is in a county and an area ensemble you will only pay the £35 County Ensemble fee.
